One Canvas at a Time

Travel stories, honest reviews, and original paintings from the roads less travelled.

Hello, I’m a Traveller & Painter

I’ve always believed that the best way to truly understand a place is to slow down, sit with it, and paint it. European Wanderlust was born from years of solo travel across the continent β€” from the sun-drenched villages of southern Italy to the fog-laced canals of the Netherlands.

On this site you’ll find my honest, personal accounts of the places I’ve stayed, the food I’ve eaten, and the moments that made me pull out my sketchbook. No PR-polished copy β€” just what it was actually like to be there.

What You’ll Find Here

Each post is a first-hand account β€” somewhere between a travel diary and a practical guide.

πŸ—ΊοΈ Places Visited

Authentic impressions of cities, villages, and landscapes β€” what to see, what to skip, and what genuinely surprised me.

🏨 Hotels & Stays

Honest reviews of where I slept β€” boutique guesthouses, city apartments, and the occasional splurge β€” with the details that actually matter.

🍽️ Restaurants & Food

From market stalls to candlelit trattorias β€” what I ordered, what stood out, and whether I’d go back.

🎨 Original Paintings

Each painting in the shop was made on location during my travels. A piece of Europe, painted by hand, ready to hang in your home.

Painting as a Way of Seeing

I started bringing a small watercolour kit on my trips years ago β€” not to sell, just to look more carefully. When you have to paint a doorway or a hillside, you notice things a photograph would miss: the way the afternoon light hits the ochre plaster, the exact shade of green in a Venetian canal.

Over time the paintings accumulated, friends asked to buy them, and eventually the shop was born. Every piece is painted on location, signed, and sold as a one-of-a-kind original. No prints, no reproductions β€” just the real thing, with the dust of the road still on it.
